The Fine Arts team at Willow Park School along with Studio Artist Mark Vasquez-Mackay are a vital part of our learning community. They are an incredibly talented and caring group of individuals that understand how important the arts are at a time like this to nourish and sustain that creative aspect of our humanity. As a result, they have created a blog for all students and families as a community to visit and contribute to. The blog is called Fill the Well and it is a capacious handbag of artworks, inspirations and activities to fill your soul. We invite you to visit the site regularly to replenish that which might be a little empty at this moment. https://willowparkfa.blogspot.com/
Please submit contributions to the site by emailing one of these teachers : (Mrs. Schurig) [email protected], (Ms. Quinn-Hall) [email protected], (Mr. Shank) [email protected], (Ms. Williams) [email protected], Ms. Romanchuk) [email protected], or (Ms. Abma) [email protected]. Thanks for everyone who tuned into our practice Google Meet session. I thought maybe 5 or 6 of you would show up and 25 of you did. It was great to see all your faces and hear how you have been doing. Remember you can always email me if you need anything or need support.

Hello Class! I hope everyone had a great Spring Break and is healthy. How was your Spring Break? What did everyone get up to? The weather wasn't awesome, but it did get better for the last day which was nice. Do yourself a favor and don't look at the forecast, it seems like Mother Nature had decided to take us back to winter. Mrs. Presley and I will be planning what learning we will be doing over the next week today, so check back Tuesday to see your first assignment. Our classmate Zoey did an incredible job recording her Historical Novel Book report on the Great Depression. I put the video and a place to ask her questions in the blog post below Would anyone, that was not able to present, be able to record their project? I know the majority of the projects and artifacts are in the classroom, but if anyone want to share their Google slide show or can present, please let me know. If anyone also has any pictures of their Spring Break adventures please let me know so I can post them here for our class to see. Chat soon, Mr.H Here are some of my adventures from my Spring Break Thanks so much to Natalie and her Mom for sharing this awesome game Whimsical Wander through the Neighbourhood game Materials: a dice (preferably in a clear non-breakable container -See video below https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RyNVpEdKAMgZJt-fJpAsuNad0UK7bbKj/view?usp=sharing How to play: Head out on a walk. When you get to an intersection one player rolls the dice. Proceed as follows: 1 & 3 – turn right 2 & 4 – turn left 5 – go straight 6 – Roller’s choice Set a timer for your walk, and when it goes head back home from wherever you are (mathematically speaking the dice would lead you home eventually, but best not to rely on this!)! Alternate: If you have a set walking route you like to take assign an activity to each number, like balances, jumping jacks, jogging on the spot for 10 seconds, then do the rolled activity at each intersection. Hello Everyone, I miss you guys and hope everyone is healthy It was great to see a few of you this week when you picked up your things. I will be posting learning on the blog after Spring Break. Since today school is still not on official holidays until tomorrow, I would like everyone to do 15 chair-ups and 12 burpees. Then go on at least two walks and remember to read lots. Please dont just email and text your friends and family. Make some phone calls, FaceTime or Skype just to say Hello. I am going to start to read and record Parvana's Journey, the next book in the Breadwinner series to for our first learning project. Enjoy your Spring Break and get outside lots. Mr. H 3:30pm Update
